NILGOSC Communications Templates for Employers

As an employer you are required to write out to all of your employees when you reach your staging date to advise them of their options with regards to Automatic Enrolment. Under automatic enrolment legislation, you will be required to provide certain information to each type of worker.

NILGOSC has amended template letters created by LGPC to relate to the LGPS (NI), and these are suitable for use by NILGOSC employing authorities.

Please read the description of each letter carefully to ensure that you are using it in the correct instance.

Letter A - To be issued to workers who, on the employer's 'staging date', are already members of LGPS (NI) (DRAFT) (*PDF, 163KB)

Letter B -  To be issued to eligible jobholders who are being automatically enrolled into the LGPS (NI) under the automatic enrolment rules (DRAFT) (*PDF, 210KB)

Letter C - To be issued to existing non-eligible jobholders and entitled workers who, on the employer's 'staging date', are not members of the LGPS (NI), have a contract for 3 months or more and are entitled to opt to join the LGPS (NI) under the automatic enrolment rules (DRAFT) (*PDF, 258KB)

Letter D - To be issued to workers who, after commencement of employment, and after the employer's 'staging date', become a non-eligible jobholder or an entitled worker for the first time, are not members of the LGPS (NI) and have a contract for 3 months or more (DRAFT) (*PDF, 205KB)

Letter E - To be issued to workers who, after commencement of employment, and after the employer's 'staging date', opt to join the LGPS (NI) under the automatic enrolment rules (DRAFT) (*PDF, 202KB)

Letter F - To be sent to employees 'contractually enrolled' into the LGPS (NI) (DRAFT) (*PDF, 192KB)

Letter G - To be sent to employees enrolled into the LGPS (NI) when their initial contract for less than 3 months is extended to 3 months or more (DRAFT) (*PDF, 186KB)

Letter L - To be sent to employees who opt to join the LGPS (NI) during the postponement or transitional delay periods (DRAFT) (*PDF, 181KB)

Letter P - To be issued to workers who have a contract for less than 3 months (but see paragraph 47 of LGPC Guide re NOMO casuals) for whom the employer wishes to postpone the automatic enrolment duties (DRAFT) (*PDF, 145KB)

Letter T - To be issued to existing eligible jobholders who, on the employer's 'staging date', are not contributing to the LGPS (NI), and the employer has decided to apply the transitional delay period (DRAFT) (*PDF, 206KB)
