NILGOSC helps the Easter Bunny make a special delivery

14 April 2017

Easter Egg Collection

NILGOSC has been collecting Easter eggs for the children at The Belfast Hospital for Sick Children who sadly will be unable to go on Easter Egg Hunts this year due to receiving cancer treatment.

The Easter Bunny (AKA Jacqueline Wilkinson from The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity) collected the eggs and delivered them to the children in the Cancer Unit this week.  Jacqueline described how excited the children were to receive their special delivery,

“The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity would like to thank all the staff at NILGOSC for putting very large smiles on the faces of the cancer patients at The Belfast Hospital for Sick Children. When I arrived at the Unit the children were so excited to see what was in the very large bags I had with me. There were screams from some of the children when they discovered all the Easter Eggs that the staff had collected for them. Thank you all very much for your kindness.”

The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity was chosen by NILGOSC staff to be the organisation’s charity of the year for 2017. As well as collecting Easter eggs for the children a coffee morning also took place this week and collection boxes will be a permanent feature in the office for staff to put their loose change into as part of our ‘Change to Change Lives’ campaign . We intend to organise many events throughout the year to raise money and awareness for this worthwhile charity to enable them to continue their work supporting young children and their families in Northern Ireland.
