Guidance is available online at the Pensions Regulator’s website. As well as a beginner’s guide and online tools, 11 different areas of specific guidance are available.
The Pensions Regulator also has a step-by-step guide to automatic enrolment for small businesses and a re-declaration of compliance checklist, an essential guide and a duties checker for employers.
The LGPC Automatic Enrolment Guide sets out how the provision within the automatic enrolment legislation interacts with the LGPS. This guide is written for the Scheme in England and Wales but most of it is relevant to the LGPS in Northern Ireland. It also contains a number of template letters for employers to use and flowcharts to assist employers through the automatic enrolment process.
