Data Protection Complaints

The following information provided is a summary of our process.

First Step

Complaints can be made verbally, in writing or in person. You can complain to any member of staff by a number of means such as the Review and Complaints form (532KB, PDF), letter, email, phone call or in person. You should include your full name and contact details, details about the complaint, what has gone wrong and the outcome you are seeking.

Second Step

We will acknowledge the complaint within 30 working days and will respond without undue delay. If the investigation is likely to take some time, NILGOSC will notify you of the reason for the delay and keep you informed on progress and revised timeframes.

What if I am still dissatisfied?

You have the right to contact the Information Commissioner’s Office if you remain dissatisfied with the outcome of the investigation. They can be contacted at:
