Consultation on amendments to the statutory underpin

Published on

The Department for Communities is seeking views on proposals to address discrimination identified by the Courts in the transitional arrangements which were part of the 2015 reform of the Local Government Pension Scheme in Northern Ireland.

This consultation seeks views on changes to the Local Government Pension Scheme in Northern Ireland (LGPS (NI)). It outlines proposed changes to the LGPS (NI) statutory underpin protection to remove unlawful discrimination found by the Courts in relation to public service pension scheme ‘transitional protection’ arrangements.

The consultation document can be found on the Department for Communities website
