Letter Y – To be issued to active members who on the employer’s re-enrolment date are members of the 50/50 section and will therefore be moved back to the Main Section of the Scheme.

Letter X – To be issued to eligible jobholders who are being automatically re-enrolled into NILGOSC under the automatic enrolment rules. (Also to be used if the employer has chosen to automatically re-enrol those to whom the exemptions apply.)

Letter W – To be issued to eligible jobholders who are not being automatically re-enrolled into NILGOSC under the automatic enrolment rules as the employer has chosen not to because one of the exemptions applies.

Letter P – To be issued to workers who have a contract of employment for less than 3 months (but see paragraph 46 re casual employees) for whom the employer wishes to postpone the automatic enrolment duties.

Letter G – To be sent to employees enrolled into the LGPS (NI) when their initial contract of employment, of less than 3 months, is extended to 3 months or more.

Letter F – To be sent to employees ‘contractually enrolled’ into NILGOSC.

Letter E – To be issued to workers who, after commencement of employment, and after the employer’s ‘staging date’, opt to join the LGPS (NI) under the automatic enrolment rules.

Letter D – To be issued to workers who, after commencement of employment, and after the employer’s ‘staging date’, become a non-eligible jobholder or an entitled worker for the first time, are not members of the LGPS (NI) and have a contract of employment for 3 months or more.

Letter C – To be issued to existing non-eligible jobholders and entitled workers with a contract of employment of 3 months or more, who aren’t members of NILGOSC and can opt to join the Scheme.

Letter B – To be issued to eligible jobholders who are being automatically enrolled into NILGOSC under the automatic enrolment rules.

SS11 – Election to re-join the main section of the Scheme

For member to complete. On receipt of this form the employer should put the member back in the main section from the beginning of the next pay period.

SS12 – Election to join the 50/50 section of the Scheme

For employer to complete. The employer should use this spreadsheet to notify NILGOSC of movements to the main section.
