If you die a survivor’s pension is payable to your widow, widower, civil partner or eligible cohabiting partner as set out below.
Death of a Councillor as an active member
If you die your survivor will receive a pension equal to:
- Your accrued pension to the date of death (ignoring any reductions) recalculated as if it had built up at a rate of 1/160th, plus
- 1/160 x career average pay x membership in the Scheme up to 31 March 2015
Death of a Councillor if you left the Scheme before 1 April 2015
A survivor pension is payable of:
- 1/160 x career average pay x total membership

A survivor pension is payable of:
- Your accrued pension recalculated as if it had built up at a rate of 1/160th, ignoring any reductions and pension given up for lump sum.
